Which state is most difficult for getting a divorce?

On Behalf of | Feb 3, 2022 | Divorce

Not all of the states are the same when it comes to divorce. In some states, divorces take longer, court fees are higher or higher divorce rates mean more waiting for court dates.

When factoring in all of those criteria, more affluent states seemed to rate worse than states with less money. It is probably safe to assume that divorcing couples who live in more affluent states will be charged higher fees. Additionally, the amount of time that it takes to obtain a divorce is also longer in those states.

According to the publication Best Life, Michigan falls somewhere in the middle of the states in terms of difficulty in obtaining a divorce. Of course, that should not stop you from doing what you need to do. It is just important for you to understand the challenges that you might face.
